Welcome to PDF Editor Pro. This comprehensive guide will help you master all features, from basic text editing to advanced engineering measurements and print preparation.

1 Getting Started

Open a Document

Click the Open PDF button in the top header to select a file from your device. The editor supports standard PDF files.

Tip: You can also drag and drop a PDF file directly into the window.

2 Toolbar Overview

The toolbar is organized into logical groups for easy access.

The toolbar provides quick access to all editing and management tools.

Creation Tools

  • Cursor: Select and move objects.
  • Text: Add custom text.
  • Highlight: Mark text.
  • Sticky Note: Add notes.

Management Tools

  • Merge: Combine PDFs.
  • Split: Extract pages.
  • Compress: Reduce file size.
  • Watermark: Add watermarks.

Important: Page Targeting

Before applying edits (like Watermarks or Page Numbers), you must select the target pages using the "Apply to:" dropdown in the toolbar. You can choose Current Page, All Pages, or a Custom Range.

4 Margins & Snapping

Ensure your document is print-ready with professional margin controls and smart snapping.

Margin Guides

Click the Margins button to open the control panel. You can set safe zones (e.g., 30mm Top) to avoid cutting off content during printing.

  • Visual overlay shows safe area.
  • Red warning appears if content crosses margins.
  • Lock option keeps all sides equal.

Smart Snapping

Enable the Snap button (magnet icon) to align elements automatically.

  • Snaps to Page Center (Vertical/Horizontal).
  • Snaps to Margin Lines.
  • Shows blue guide lines when aligned.

5 Measurement Tools

Perfect for engineering drawings or floor plans. Measure real-world distances and areas.

    Calibrate: Click to set the scale. Draw a line of known length (e.g., a scale bar) and enter its real-world value (e.g., "5 meters").

    Measure Length: Click and drag to measure distance.

    Measure Area: Click and click points to define a polygon. Double-click to finish.

6 Document Management

Merge PDFs

Combine multiple PDF files into a single document.

  • Drag and drop files to reorder them.
  • Insert new pages at the beginning, end, or specific position of your current document.

Split PDF

Extract specific pages or split a document into separate files.

How to use:

  1. Click the Split button.
  2. Select Current Doc or upload a new one.
  3. Choose Version:
    • Original: Fast split of raw file (no edits).
    • Edited: Includes your text/images (flattened).
  4. Click thumbnails to select pages (or type "1-3, 5").
  5. Choose Extract (one file) or Separate (ZIP).

Fast client-side processing

Compress PDF

Reduce file size for easier sharing. Choose from Low, Medium, or High compression levels.

Page Organizer

Visual grid view for managing pages.

  • Reorder: Drag and drop pages to change their order.
  • Rotate/Delete: Select pages and use the toolbar buttons.
  • Export: Save organized pages as PDF or Images (ZIP).

7 Export & Print

Export

Save your work in various formats.

Click Preview to see a clean, distraction-free view of your document with margins locked. Then click Print.
